A group of Bolivian enthusiasts have recently developed a video game along with the Bolivian technology company VRealitySRL in support of our recently rescued Andean bear cub Tarkus.
The game is called Jukumari, which is the local native name for the Andean Bear. It is based on the story of an Andean bear cub who must face the many challenges that nature has in store for him.
The game was awarded the Eduardo Abaroa prize in 2016, when it was developed. Now it is being made available in app-store and google play. It is being launched at the same time that the Tarkus Enclosure campaign is being launched. The developers state that the more people play it, the more they will be able to support Tarkus. Check out the game here.
Tarkus is a young male bear cub that was rescued in 2019 and was being kept in a middle size management cage that we quickly built for him thanks to donations. The other bears, Tipnis and Aruma, have large spaces inside the forest enclosed by electric wiring, which allows them to have a lot more space. We think it’s time for Tarkus to have a similar enclosure.
The project will cost 10,000 USD, you may donate and learn more about it here.
